The Northern Harvest produce program supports local farmers and creates wealth in the Temiskaming and Nipissing regions. Long haul shipping is reduced and sustainable local food purchasing and distribution is created. Participants receive super fresh produce that is picked in the morning and delivered in the afternoon to participating depots for pick up. Produce is chemical fertilizer and pesticide free.
A single share, ideal for 1-3 people, contains 6-10 units of produce and costs $525.00 (A unit is a head of lettuce or bunch or carrots, pint of berries etc.....)
A double share, ideal for families, costs $775.00 and contains 12-20 units of produce
Beans, Beets, Corn, Cucumbers, Garlic, Garlic Scapes, Green Peas, Haskap Berries, Herbs, Kale, Kohlrabi, Lettuce varieties, Onions, Peppers, Potatoes, Pumpkins, Radishes, Raspberries, Strawberries, Turnips, Squash, Swiss Chard, Tomatoes, Zucchini, etc.
We do our best to provide you with a variety but remember that Mother Nature sometimes has a different plan. Not all crops will succeed. Local dairy products, baking or preserves may be substitute a crop or two. Remember – you will receive less produce at the beginning when crops are just beginning and more produce in late summer when the harvest is going strong!!!
